Robert Epstein CVT Way Past Midnight 2020 Apr

Cover image from author

way past midnight
still up but so
is my muse

my creaking bed––
we donʼt listen
to one another

full moon––
I refuse to eat
more than a sliver

that lone mosquito
In the bedroom
has come for me

without a clock
to keep me up
the Milky Way

through the blinds
the morning star
taps my forehead
