Clap your hands,
absorb the attitude.
Everything is on the one
to highlight the backbeat,
music stripped naked
to its primal essence.
It’s syncopated madness.
Kick and snare,
the slap bass line
shall be your tour guide.

The funk can be your
golden and gritty path
to a destination
we’ve all imagined
but never quite been.
Don’t be afraid.
If you are lucky,
you may get lost
and found
in the same groove.
