Siren

The sound of your voice

was so beautiful

that me, in my youth and naivety,

could not help but to be drawn towards it.

The siren sounds have drawn

many men to their deaths,

but even in my youth,

I was too strong to die,

whether it was by your hand or my own.

So sing,

siren,

sing,

and try to drag me into the ocean,

for my lungs are strong enough to

kiss you underwater and not drown,

but my heart was never strong enough

to see you leave,

especially when I knew you'd never come back.
